This month’s updates focus on keeping our community looking its best while staying safe and aligned with our shared guidelines. From timely lawn‑care reminders to a few important housekeeping notes, here’s everything you need to know to start the season off right.
| Spring Has Sprung! As temperatures warm and grass begins actively growing, now is the ideal time to fertilize your lawn. Early spring fertilization supports strong root development after winter dormancy and helps your yard green up evenly for the season ahead. As you’re out working on your lawn, please remember to keep sidewalks and streets clear of equipment, avoid blowing grass clippings into the road, and store fertilizers and tools safely to help keep the neighborhood clean and hazard‑free. And please remember that dumping yard waste of any kind in neighborhood green spaces is strictly prohibited. For the greenest lawn, consider using a slow‑release fertilizer, mowing at the recommended height for your grass type, watering deeply but infrequently, and keeping mower blades sharp to prevent stress on new growth. A little early‑season care goes a long way toward a healthy, vibrant yard all summer long. |
| Short-Term Rentals for World Cup are Prohibited We have been in discussions with Platte County regarding residents’ ability to rent out their homes to visitors during the World Cup this summer. Both Platte County and TO HOA Covenants prohibit short-term rentals of any kind and therefore residents will not be allowed to list their homes on sites like VRBO or AirBnB, or rent out to parties of any kind. |

| Reminder About Green Spaces The Association is preserving designated green space areas in their natural state, consistent with Thousand Oaks’ original vision, while managing invasive species, supporting native growth, and addressing erosion concerns to protect Association property and reduce long‑term costs. These areas are not routinely maintained, and homeowners are not permitted to mow, modify, or improve Association‑owned land, as doing so could create inequities, increase liability, and conflict with the Association’s responsibility to manage common property consistently. Homeowners may be held financially responsible for damage caused by noncompliance with mowing, watering, or runoff guidelines. Thank you for supporting the community’s efforts to balance environmental preservation, fiscal responsibility, and legal obligations. |
