Annual Thousand Oaks 4th of July Funfest and Parade

Come celebrate America’s Independence with your Thousand Oaks neighbors! Join us for a parade down Nevada Avenue from the Otters Pool to the Oasis Pool and Clubhouse.
Decorate your bicycle, scooter, strollers, wagons, and golf carts in red, white and blue!
An all-ages FunFest will be taking place at the Oasis Clubhouse pool. Bounce houses, Traci’s Shaved Ice ($3 per), Music, etc.
When: Saturday, July 4th
Where: Otters Pool, Nevada Avenue, Oasis Club House
Time: Those participating in the parade will need to be at the Otter Pool parking lot by 8:30 AM. Bicycles will lead the parade, followed by scooters, and those walking and pushing strollers or wagons, and then golf carts and other motorized vehicles. Parade will start at 9:00 AM.
Volunteer Request:
We will need around 30 volunteers to help us safely guide the parade down Nevada, and help set up and clean up the fun fest activities! Below is the breakdown, details on how to sign up will be shared soon.
Parade Set up: 5 Volunteers needed: 8:15 AM Otters Pool- help organize the bikes, scooters, walkers, and golf carts so they can promptly start the parade at 9 AM
Parade Route Monitors: 8:45- 9:30 (15 people) Help monitor traffic down Nevada from both directions. Stand at the busier intersections and ask motorists to wait until the parade has finished before turning onto Nevada. Cheer on parade participants as they pass!
FunFest Captains: 8:15- 11:30 5 volunteers needed: help set up and clean up from the Funfest. Help organize bike/scooter/wagon parking at the Oasis Clubhouse
Bounce house/Inflatables monitors:9- 11:30 5 Volunteers will monitor the bounce houses and other Fun Fest activities. Volunteers are asked to ensure appropriate age kids are using the inflatables appropriately, following all rules, and allowing all children to partake in the activities.
Neighborhood Fireworks show will start after dark! ????
