January Blood Drive – BLOOD EMERGENCY

We want to thank everyone who came out and donated in December. Our goal was 30 units of blood, and we were able to secure 45 units of blood. This was able to provide up to 135 patients life-saving blood.

There is currently a blood shortage in the metro, and our community has the opportunity to help close the gap! We understand this is a bit last minute, but the opportunity cannot be passed up. The Association has had several requests since our last drive to host another. Our goal is to raise 50 units of blood, which means we need 45 to 50 donors. First time always welcomed!

Statement from the CBC: “Community Blood Center blood donors and donations are down significantly. We finished 2023 with our lowest collections in 6 years, nearly 18,000 units down from 2021 alone. However, we want to emphasize there were some positive signs, including an increase in mobile drive collections and a rebound in youth and first-time donations. Despite these encouraging trends, CBC has seen a nearly 40% drop in donations in the last three weeks due to the holidays, a spike in seasonal illnesses, and the recent winter storm.

NOTE: If you donated in December, you are unable to donate in this event.
